All good things start with passion and vision. Sushram’s founders can never stop doing good and this passion gets stronger by the day…
‘Sushram’, the NGOs name, has its foundations, blessings and derives inspiration from the founder’s parents – Sushma (meaning: Sparkling inner beauty) and Rem Mehar (meaning: blessed by god/ram).
The word ‘Sushram’ is derived from the word ‘Su’ which implies ‘Beautiful’ and ‘Shram’, which means ‘Labour’. The meaning of the name ‘Sushram’ embodies everything we do – ‘beautiful work’.
Sushram was incorporated in 2021 but the underpinnings were rooted 10 years ago in 2011, when the first loans were being provided on micro finance sites like Kiva.org, donations being made to projects at Snehalaya.org, afforestation drive in Rajasthan and Individual level SOS calls.
Sushram’s philosophy is to focus on Livelihood activities – be it in Agriculture or cottage industry or value add activities like trading efficiencies or rural farmers, artisans and other workers. The NGO will also participate in areas of basic education (Children and adults), WildLife & environmental projects, Legal representation assistance to economically poor and women’s health e.g. pre and post-natal health.
